The program is easy to use, and I like the graph functions. Improvements Id like to see in future versions are the ability to add two insulin doses to each blood glucose reading, and the ability to track carbohydrade intake. Id recommend this app for any diabetic
A good design, but missing an important feature in the Add/Edit Event screen for Insulin dosage - it does not allow for the recording and tracking of mixed Insulin injections. Because of this, I have switched to another diabetic tracking app. Please fix this shortcoming...
This is probably the best app for diabetics at this point available. However IPOD TOUCH 2G users should be able to enable EMAIL settings, and apparently it is a function only availble to IPHONE users as my versions settings for that feature are blanked out. I would suggest making that option available to all users on the next version; after all, I have WI-FI in my home and place of work so that emailing people from my TOUCH is always possible, I dont need a phone line for that. This app though is definately on the right track for all diabetics and their health care providers.
I love this app! Its simple and does all I need it to do: keep track of my blood glucose levels & the units of insulin I take. The only thing I dont like is that you cant add 2 kinds of insulin on the same entry. Very small complaint for an overall awesome app!
I have used this app for about 4 months now and it was fantastic up to the upgrade to OS4 (iPod). Now, at the beggining of a new day, I cannot see its data until I turn my IPod off (lock is not enough). I dont see the data for the current day unless I look at the entire month (this day or this week show all the data but the current day) or turn off the ipod wich is very inconvenient. Please fix this problem so that I can enjoy this app as before and give it the 5 stars it deserves when its working fine. Thank you Francis Tousignant
Ive used it for 6 months. A key part of my management routine. Love the app!
Used app for months! Worked fine! Now it doesnt run! Tried reinstalling it but still doesnt run! Very disappointing because I paid for this app!!!
Apps does not work after update paid for this not happy
Its a very pratical application and a simple application.
Does exactly what it needs to do with a very simple and straightforward design.
Have used this since it was first available and easy to use. Well thought out. Use Serious Nutrition Tracker for daily meal portions and net carb per meal and snack.
This is the best program out there. I have been using it for years now. I have tried others and always came back. They just dont offer the simplicity combined with functionality. Thank you for writing this app
This is the most user-friendly app I could find at the apple store. Very easy to use, no complicated settings required. Unlike in its competitors app. it allow you to enter simultaneously: glucose level, carbohydrate consumed and insulin injected. Design is also very nice, friendly and sharp. Definitely worth its money. Things I would like to be improved: 1) Ability to record data of two types of insulin (short and long) at one entry (currently I should proceed with two entries). 2) Body weight tracking, which is quite important. 3) The most important. Estimated insulin dose per bread unit measurment based on weekly data input analysis. Once its done app is just perfect! Good luck!
Thats great application and its very useful for me!
Looks like this is the beginning of a good application. It will not work for me. I cannot get it accept my glucose readings or insulin reading. It does not seem to recognize the taps. ***SEE BELOW*** Also it appears to only accept mmol/L if it did function. There do not appear to be any user options or preferences either. 1.99 + tax is an expensive way to find out that it does not function as advertised. NOT GOOD! TRY AGAIN. MIA CULPA! It takes a little finesse to move the readings. It does work, and well, once my ham handed fingers learned to do it correctly. When I contacted the author he was quick to respond. Thanks Chris.
Im a recent migrant from the Palm platform to the iPhone, and Ive tried many diabetes applications on the Palm, and have inspected the iTunes advertisement pages for the ones for iPhone. This app is by far the most useful of any app Ive found. If you are newly diabetic, or are newly on insulin, and your physician instructs you on your insulin dosing, then you might want to purchase an app which allows you to record your dietary intake, which this app doesnt. However, if you are at the point in your disease where you dont need to record your diet, and you titrate your insulin dose yourself and are tweeking the dosing, then this is hands down the best app Ive found for either Palm or iPhone. Its superiority rests in the graphics display. It both shows a line graph of your glucose level (values being on the y axis on the left side of the window), and has a histogram of insulin dose taken for each glucose reading (values being on the y axis on the right side of the window), with the different insulin types being displayed in different colors. This is not only a gorgeous looking graph, it is the most useful one Ive found, and Ive been looking for this exact type of display for years in a diabetes management application. The reason this feature is important is that it allows you to visually see in graphic format the changes in glucose control which your changes in insulin dosing make (and for me it proved that, contrary to my MDs claim, Lantus insulin puts my glucose trough at 16-18 hours later, not 24 hours later). In addition, I wrote to the author, only a few weeks ago, that Id like to see the different insulin types in different colors on the histogram (in the earlier version they were all the same color), and the update I received last night had that feature. I love it!
Screenshot #2 above is in the EDIT mode. Notice that the SAVE button is in blue; great. BUT, while editing the NOTE, the option buttons are {Edit Reading (back to)} and {CLEAR}. • Any CLEAR function button should be in RED. Any action that DELETEs info should be in red. Wrote a lengthy blurb and clicked "Save"; oops, that was the CLEAR button. Dang, dang, dang. ª GUI Fix: Actually, the buttons in the EDIT NOTE mode should be {left side CANCEL} and {right side SAVE}, the same as it is in Screenshot #2 above. A third, red CLEAR button could be included Why 5 stars then? Because the App is the most comprehensive!
great ap
I have a daughter with type one diabetes. We are running all the time and I needed a portable BG diary application to input her information into. I tried several other apps, but I needed something quick and easy. The layout is what I like best about this application. The "home" is layed out in an easy to input "go down the list and input" style. I use the insulin setting where I can put in decimals as my daughter is on a Levemir/pump untethered regimin. The different colors for the different insulins (which are already listed...thank you) is very helpful. The way the information you input is displayed in the "list" is also what I like. Other applications just listed the information one right under the other; some had an indicator on the side as to whether is was insulin, carbs, or BG. This app lists one on top of the other but it keeps the BG in one column, the carbs in the next column and the insulin (in color) on the third column. The "day" segments are very helpful as well. The info is much easier to look at and read! It also puts BG in red if it is out of the range you set. I like the feature where you can specify where the shot was given. I know there is not an official food list or place to make a list of food but this is no problem for me as I hated making a list on other apps and then having to scroll through the list to put in every food she ate...again too much time to do that!!! I just put the food she ate into the notes. I like that I can add "time of day categories" as I use the "during night" and "ramdom" if it is an odd check for highs or lows. I can export the information into a file where I copy and paste the info into my own graph that I created (although I REALLY wish the graph on the iPod could be printed as I REALLY like that graph!!!). I wish the date and time on the export file were separated, though, as it would be easier to work with in creating my own graph. I am sold on this application; easy and quick to use. Just perfect for me!
